The IT Product Lifecycle Management Portfolio has an immediate opening for a Principal Software Engineer on the Product Lifecycle and Portfolio Management Team. Product data lifecycle management is the strategic process of managing the complete product journey of a product from initial ideation, development, service, and disposal. Product Portfolio Management provides a framework for governing business processes that manage NI’s investments, aka projects and facilitate projects’ coordination and its activities across various functions both within and outside the organization.
As a Software Engineer in the Product Lifecycle and Portfolio management you’ll solve complex problems that have profound impact on how we engage with our internal customers on the product journey experience. It is an area of high transformation, leveraging new technology to modernize and deliver an industry leading purchasing experience. Everyday you will work with a highly collaborative team across IT and the business, working to achieve ambitious goals and continually improve the experience for our customers. To thrive in this role, you have to embrace an engineering mindset with confident technology knowledge, object-oriented programming skills and software development lifecycle management experience.
In this role, You will be responsible:
Here’s what you can expect as a Software Engineer:
• Using agile methodologies to design / develop / test / deploy solutions
• Leveraging back-end, Jave EE based and front-end Single-page application based (Angular, React) technologies
• Integrating applications through APIs, extract / transform / load patterns an database or SaaS connections
• Understanding of, and exposure to, database systems: PL/SQL, Java and/or Oracle Applications, or other ERP system
• Modernizing leveraging containerization, K8S
• Applying DevOps principles such as continuous integration / delivery, version control and automation to accelerate solution delivery
• Communicating with co-workers, managers and stakeholders daily basis
• Being flexible with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Learning new things through self-study, training, and hands on learning
