Job Description
Wood in Reading are seeking a Fire Systems Engineer to support a large FEED project on an agency basis.
This role is based from our Reading office working on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities
Provides fire systems engineering expertise to projects during FEED and EPC design phases
Develops fire system designs and checks work on the project as appropriate
Resolves fire systems related issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards
Undertakes detailed calculations to develop the design takes responsibility for the accuracy of these calculations
Undertakes checking or approval of calculations in accordance with Wood procedures
Prepares or checks Fire Systems design deliverables for review and approval, such as Fire and Gas Hazard Analysis Documents, Hydraulic Reports, Design Basis Documents, Equipment specifications, Equipment Layouts and P&IDs
Executes fire systems engineering activities within the budget and schedule, maintaining technical integrity of the designs
Executes fire systems engineering activities to ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed
Performs or checks fire safety related calculations and provides input to Hazops, SIL and other safety reviews
Participates in technical meetings and handles discussions with client engineers
Supports the Process Project Manager in accomplishing project objectives
Qualifications
Degree Qualified in a relevant discipline
Experienced in Fire System Engineering
Experience working on large FEED / EPC projects
Must be eligible to work in the UK
