JOB TITLE:
PRINCIPAL ENGINEER – COMMISSIONING

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to perform and guide the team during Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning mechanical activities related to static and rotating equipment, such as internal inspections, box-up, lube oil flushing, alignment, greasing, vibration checks, mechanical run tests, and more.
• Ensure that project preservation and maintenance routines, matrices, and schedules align with project requirements and vendor recommendations.
• Proficient in troubleshooting technical issues related to rotating/static equipment and mechanical packages, coordinating with engineering teams and/or respective vendors as needed.
• Capable of advising on the necessary manpower, tools, and equipment required for Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities.
• Interact with QA/QC teams to ensure compliance with company quality procedures and coordinate internal and third-party audits related to the mechanical discipline when requested.
• Familiar with Turnover Management systems, including Inspection Test Records (ITRs), MC dossiers, and RFSU dossiers.
• Skilled in analyzing technical issues, initiating proper corrective actions, and reporting to the Commissioning Manager.
• Ensures safe working conditions and is familiar with PTW systems, JSA, LOTO, and PSSR.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Proven expertise and sound knowledge in Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning with a minimum of 10+ years of experience.
• Extensive experience and knowledge of common static and rotating equipment, including vessels, tanks, columns, centrifugal pumps, reciprocating pumps, compressors, turbines, and related packages.
• Skilled in effectively handling Mechanical Equipment (static and rotating) and vendor packages.
• Hands-on leadership of a team of mechanical commissioning discipline engineers, supervisors, and operators to carry out Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Start-up activities.
• Capable of providing necessary technical information to other disciplines during the project.
• Skilled in coordinating work safely within budgeted man-hours and project schedules.
• Excellent communication and interface skills.
• Strong leadership, managerial, and teamwork abilities.
• Competent in supervising and coordinating technical staff and third parties.
• Able to perform well under pressure and handle unexpected situations effectively.
• Willing to work on a shift basis and/or beyond normal working hours.
• Proficient in writing technical reports and compiling documents related to mechanical activities.
• Capable of producing and implementing detailed mechanical test procedures and method statements.
• Skilled in gathering and analyzing data for troubleshooting (e.g., RCA) and performance assessment of mechanical equipment/packages and their interfaces.
• Able to investigate and resolve issues independently or implement solutions provided by Engineering/Vendors.
