PermanentBookmark Details
INNOVATE TO SOLVE THE WORLD’S MOST IMPORTANT CHALLENGES
Use your advanced optical engineering skills to help Honeywell Ottawa deliver innovative solutions across a variety of optical design opportunities. You will be empowered to think BIG and challenge yourself to understand more than just one aspect of the optical engineering discipline. You will work alongside some of the world’s most talented engineers. You will apply research of complex optical systems to achieve desired optical specifications. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell’s state-of-the-art optical instruments for military, space, and commercial applications, including Earth observation, atmospheric monitoring, space situational awareness, space science, and optical communications. You will take a lead role as part of a multidisciplined team, in designing, testing and validating products from prototype to market. Examples of products include a broad spectrum of optical and opto-mechanical elements, ranging from mirrors, lenses, and mounts; critical subsystems such as fore optics and detector assemblies; and up to full instruments incorporating electronics and mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
• Optical products’ assembly, integration and test
• Optical Simulation and Design
• Opto-mechanical tolerance and thermal analysis
• Optical parts packaging and drawing development
• Performance specification review and development
• Cooperating with and interacting with external vendors
• Incoming part inspection and validation
• Supporting manufacturing line support requests
• Customer site visits
