Job Description

This position provides maintenance engineering and technical support for a maintenance project or site. This position conducts work directly related to management or general business operations in an organization or functional area. The work requires advanced knowledge gained from a prolonged course of specialized instruction, experience, and expertise. The position includes work requiring the consistent exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance
• Perform maintenance engineering work by applying standard maintenance engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in support of the plant operating environment
• Prepare project reports and estimates by identifying activities, status and performance
• Plan routine maintenance activities by evaluating client requirements, plant operating equipment, maintenance problems and recommending program systems and corrective actions
• Maintain technical knowledge by keeping current on available systems and equipment for plant operations and maintenance experience
• Ensure effective application of all tools, techniques and programs by maintaining strategic maintenance programs, including reliability programs, preventative and predictive maintenance and computerized maintenance management systems
• Develop business opportunities by performing plant operations and maintenance consulting services and for leading application study effort
• Maintain a working knowledge of Company specific Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, programs, and goals as applicable to this position
• Assist in the maintenance, monitoring, programming, installation, repair, replacement, back-up, and recovery of building controls systems
• Prepare project reports and estimates by identifying activities, status and performance
• Plan routine maintenance activities by evaluating client requirements, plant operating equipment, maintenance problems and recommending program systems and corrective actions
• Maintain technical knowledge by keeping current on available systems and equipment for plant operations and maintenance experience
• Assist in and perform the planning, organizing, and guiding controls systems development and support activities including data analysis and database design and administration
• Identify, troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve systems and communications problems to include the repair/replacement of component level devices (i.e., input/output devices, modems, etc.)
• Assist with the design and installation of minor electrical circuits for control and monitoring, as required
• Learn to manipulate various software used for communications and report generation
• Ensure the access, security and integrity of system(s) is maintained; provide supporting documentation and controls
• Generate reports on the operational status of the systems
• Generate daily, monthly, quarterly, and semiannual reports for Client and Company Management per schedule requirements
• Perform maintenance engineering work by applying standard maintenance engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in support of the plant operating environment
• Ensure complete and accurate files of the systems are maintained
• Direct maintenance staff in the controls and operations systems and provide troubleshooting illustrations as applicable
• Identify and recommend technology (i.e., hardware, software, etc.)
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• May need to travel to attend to business related matters
• As directed by Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manager, fulfill contract and Operating System Requirements (OSR)/Operating System Implementation Plan (OSIP) requirements by ensuring that the duties and responsibilities of the project contract are clearly defined, documented, and followed by the Fluor team
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited four (4) year degree in Engineering preferably Electrical or Power Engineer or global equivalent in applicable field of study and (4) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Expert in at least one (1) area of plant operations and/or maintenance technology
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Working Conditions
• Generally favorable indoor office workspace, and/or the field;
• Various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to project worksites and vendor/client facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Typically an accredited degree or global equivalent in engineering or business with two (2) years of plant Operations & Maintenance experience and/or other relevant work experience
• Good working knowledge and experience based understanding of industry specific programs and systems
