Lead Systems Engineer – Innovative Navigation and Sensors

We have an opportunity for aLead Systems Engineer – Innovative Navigation and Sensorsto join ourHoneywellteam inCracow, PL.

You will help create breakthrough innovations that will ensure Honeywell’s leadership position and take a technical leadership role in creating system solutions for the SGN (Sensing, Guidance and Navigation) team that will meet the long-term evolving needs of our customers. This a chance to work on one of the most successful products for Honeywell in the segment, and to further grow your expertise while dealing with existing and new innovative projects. Being one of the first technical leaders in the new site is an exciting opportunity to develop new partnerships on the local market and witness the growth of the team developing relevant products. You will enjoy the cooperation and strong support from the other relevant Honeywell sites in the region, making sure you have all you need to succeed in the role.This is a hybrid role, 3 days in office, 2 from home.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, cost and risk, and supportability analyses for total systems
• Perform analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation and maintenance
• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
• Works with SGN project teams to deploy Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS); including process and guidelines tailoring, training, product installation, and end user support
• Ensure assigned technical tasks are completed on-time and within given requirements
• Actively identify new technological opportunities that will help achieve incremental or step change improvements

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in software engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
• Previous professional experience with system development 10+ years
• Solid engineering background in fields such as Aerospace, Software Engineering, Electronics or Computer Science
• Knowledge of inertial / satellite navigation systems and radar altimeter systems
• Good knowledge of system / software development processes is mandatory
• Good knowledge of Matlab/Simulink and design / test automation
• Excellent command of English language
• Definition of system architecture and system requirements
• Analytical skills: test planning, test report analysis, root cause analysis – systematic approach to be able to find (isolate) and resolve the issue
• Self – starter, motivated to take initiative and able to work – independently

We Value

• Knowledge of aircraft data acquisition systems and/or air data systems
• Experience with embedded / application software development (e.g. C, C++, C#)
• Familiarity with aircraft / ground systems installation, maintenance and interface definition
• Heavily preferred is some knowledge/experience with land inertial navigations and/or Alternative navigations, inertial measurement units
• Coordination/verification of engineers from different fields
• Planning and effort estimation
• Advanced knowledge of navigation algorithms (eg. Kalman Filtering – heavy preference, Gyro compassing, ZUPT, etc.) and principles
• Strong organizational skills and analytical ability
• Extremely reliable, trustworthy, with highest ethical standards
• Excellent communications skills
• Interested to work in fast paced, global business environment
