We are building a shortlist of talent for a prominent control system integrator in search of an I&E engineer for a 100% field service role in the Midwest USA region.

Responsibilities
- Electrical troubleshooting and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Utilize design documents to commission and troubleshoot industrial control systems.
- Attend and perform factory acceptance tests (FAT) with clients and client-designated representatives.
- Work with engineering and service teams, and coordinate with I&C engineering departments for design changes and technical queries.
- Interface with customers regarding I&C designs, understand client problems, and determine solutions.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, and develop/redline P&IDs, electrical drawings, and control documents.
- Adhere to safety expectations, implement site’s Operating Policy, and help achieve HSSE goals.
- Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit, fittings, and tubing as needed.
- Conduct periodic assessments of field device calibration, address out-of-tolerance issues, and inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
Skills and Experience:
- Ability to undertake basic diagnostics and troubleshooting of live PLC and/or DCS application logic with some understanding of IEC6113 languages.
- Experience in instrument loop commissioning and troubleshooting 4-20mA signals.
- Experience with commonly used testing and diagnostic equipment within I&E / I&C domain.
- Experience with working on power management systems (PMS) and configuring commissioning interfaces between PMS, MCC and plant control systems (SCADA, DCS/PLC).
- Familiarity with common fieldbus and experience with troubleshooting, commissioning such as and understanding of fieldbus networks (Control net, Device net, Foundation Fieldbus)
- Familiar and experience with control system panel wiring and best practices
- Ability to calibrate commonly used process instrument used in continuous process for food and beverage and manufacturing industries. Using industry accepted methods and following project specific standards and end-user requirements.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshooting process valves, and identify failure modes, specify material requirements for repair.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as instrument datasheets, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, manufacturer’s literature, diagrams or schematics. Ability to interpret common I&C design document such as;
- Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- At least 3 years’ experience with PMS, DCS, PLC, or SCADA control systems in a supporting commissioning capacity or hands on experience.
- Experience working in a live plant environment and working with plant operators to schedule outages when required for electrical and instrumentation repair/calibration
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Technology, or a related field.
- Vocational or Technical School diploma in Instrumentation Technology.
Certification and Training
One or more certifications and training from accredited training producers are preferred.
Instrument and Controls
- NICET Level I-IV in Instrumentation and Controls.
- ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or Certified Automation Professional (CAP)
- NCCER Instrumentation Technician Certification
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT)
Electrical
- National Electrical Code (NEC) Certification
- NICET Certification Level I-IV Certification in Electrical Systems
- IEEE Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP)
- NECA Certification for low voltage electrical systems and installations
- Certified Electrical Inspector (CEI) by accredited training body
- NFPA – Arc Flash Hazards 70E Certification
Industry Experience:
- Water Treatment Systems: Knowledge of water treatment systems and equipment is a plus.

- Ability to travel in support of domestic and international trips; anticipated travel up to 75 to 100%
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders and stairs. Flexibility for overtime and on-call duties.
