We are in search of aHardware Development Engineerto join our Power & Water Solutions businessbased in Pittsburgh, PA. Power & Water Solutions is an industry-leading controls automation company that focuses on providing applications in the renewable (solar, hydro, wind), fossil (natural gas and coal) power generation, and water treatment plants sectors. We focus on upgrading existing plant control systems with industry-leading automation controls and instrumentation to promote the sustainability and longevity of our North American power grid and wastewater infrastructure.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Be part of a global, collaborative, and innovative team passionate about developing complex hardware solutions
• Work as an integral part of a global team that is responsible for the designing, coding, debugging, maintenance, and support of next generation of industrial control applications.
• Receive real-world experience in reaching hardware engineering goals balanced with an understanding of customer needs and financial/schedule constraints.
• Learn about automation solutions for our secure development process and products to meet our customer demands.
• Provide technical direction for junior engineers and participate in peer reviews of preliminary design work.
• Support activities for existing products, including redesigns due to end of life components

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

• A minimum of 7 years of applicable engineering experience

• Must have effective communication skills and leadership capabilities

• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally (less than 5%)

• Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Project leadership experience directing other engineers and small groups of engineers on Printed Circuit Board Development projects preferred

• Industrial Control System product development experience highly preferred

• EMC, CE Mark, IEC, and DNV certification preferred

• Technical experience with the following technologies required/preferred:

• Embedded system experience with SOC technologies (Xilinx)
• FPGA and Embedded Processor Development Experience (Lattice & Xilinx)
• Schematic capture and Printed Circuit Board Layout design experience (Power Logic & Pads Experience preferred)
