Wood is recruiting for Graduate Engineers to join our Automation Engineering team across our Digital Consulting business based in one of our main UK offices, e.g. Reading, Staines, Aberdeen etc.
As a Wood Graduate you will join a culture of innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to seek the best solutions for our clients.
The Role

As a Automation Graduate, you will be given on the job training and learn how to assist in the provision of Automation deliverables such as: reading P&ID’s, control panel design, graphics design, DCS / PLC configuration, protocols and Factory Acceptance Testing supporting Wood assignments / project teams and clients.
You will initially work on some of our smaller projects with the support and guidance from a supervisor / mentor and learn how to manage your time and learn a variety of configuration techniques: Ladder Logic, function block design, sequential function charts structured text and machine language. You will also learn the aspects of low voltage electrical design such as fusing, wiring, cable selection panel layouts, heat dissipation etc.
At the end of the graduate scheme, you may want to develop into one specific area, e.g. Distributed Control Systems or Safety Systems.
