Honeywell Intelligrated is seeking to fill the role of an Experienced Sorter Rebuild Specialist We are looking for someone with leadership potential that can grow into a working Site Lead. You will promote safety and efficiency while working against tight schedules to successfully teardown and rebuild sorting conveyor. This role is responsible to support the rebuild of Honeywell’s line sorters by following the guidance of the team lead to remove, replace, and clean hardware on a variety of Honeywell line sorter types. You will also be involved with inventory, staging, and moving hardware throughout a distribution center to support the rebuild in addition to clean up efforts to present a professional installation appearance. This job involves working mostly weekends within a constrained timeline where success is judged by completing the rebuild in the customer provided downtime windows while presenting a professional installation image.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Keep Safety in forefront of all job-related efforts
• Manually move hardware and tools to and from the job site
• Carry out the mechanical rebuild of Honeywell Intelligrated line sortation equipment
• Carry out mechanical modifications and parts replacement on industrial machinery Manually move hardware and tools to and from the job site
• Research, read and analyze existing equipment documentation – includes layout drawings, plan views, and electrical schematics
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, the implementation team and other subject matter experts, may include leading a small group of individuals to complete a task in support of a larger project
• Operation of industrial lifting equipment – crane, aerial work platforms (scissor lift), and forklift
• Inventory and stage hardware
• Mechanically remove and install hardware independently
• Cleaning customer equipment involved with the rebuild
• Clean up area and present a professional appearance
YOU MUST HAVE
• High School Diploma, or equivalent. Some experience in the field.
• 3 years of mechanical technician experience
• Ability to follow direction
• Proficiency with common metal fabrication tools (drills, saws, grinders); strong mechanical/millwright skillset
• Ability to work long hours in a physically demanding role
• Ability to work autonomously and have strong work ethic
• Experience driving forklifts, scissor lifts, and cranes; Honeywell training and certification provided
• Good communication skills
• Proficient understanding of blueprints and schematics
• Ability to manage expenses and fill out expense reports
• Ability to travel up to 90% of work hours over weekends (typical time off is mid-week)
WE VALUE
• Associates, Bachelor’s or other advanced degree
• Previous industry experience, specifically with line sortation equipment
• Electrical experience is a plus
• Previous installation experience
• Previous customer service experience
• Good written and oral communication
• Mechanical equipment aptitude, electrical skillset
• Interact well with people from various teams
• A positive, can do, want-to-learn attitude
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Customer facing experience
