Job Description

Position Summary

Support RA customers during the complete life cycle of the equipment. This assistance may be to identify and correct hardware or software discrepancies, programming installation, application, maintenance, startup, training and diagnostics.

You will report to Project Management & Engineering Manager, SEA.

Key Areas of Accountability (Specific responsibilities and expectations of the position)

Functional

• Accountable for assigned projects/ assignment and ensure the realization regarding scope, timeline, cost and customer satisfaction as per project requirement.
• Provide technical assistance and field service to customers by performing the following:
• Engineering assistance application, programming specifications.
• Field service installation startup integration, system optimization, maintenance and warranty implementation.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems at customer site.
• Provide customer coordination of RA products and systems by performing the following functions:On-site analysis and specification preparation.Hardware configuration – system and product application.Programming assistance.Project coordination between customer, OEM sales, product division.Technical support – field startup, integration and maintenance.Documentation.Test and acceptance.
• Provide proper reporting of technical, administrative and accounting information.
• Provide technical assistance to sales and customer personnel on product applications to include alternatives, recommendations, explanations, surveys to meet the customer’s requirements.
• Make recommendations for product improvements, especially as they affect operations and reliability of RA products.
• Assist in training customers and RA personnel in the application, operation, adjustment and proper maintenance of RA equipment.
• Provide feedback concerning safety and liability issues as it relates to the application of RA products.
• Maintain assigned equipment to insure good operating conditions and calibration.
• Ensure familiarity with company procedures. Apply procedures in compliance with government laws.
• Procedures include: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
• Other duties to be assigned by Immediate Supervisor.

Interpersonal

• Develop good relationships with the customers.
• Mentor and share experience to team in technical topic.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualification, Technical/ General competencies required for the role)

SKILLS(Technical/ Functional Skills required for the role):

• Ability to design, program and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, Drives and SCADA systems.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of three years field support experience utilizing programmable controllers, numerical controls, computers or motor controls and drives industrial automation control systems.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or equivalent or registration as a professional engineer.
