Field Service Engineer

Your role and responsibilities

As a Service Engineer, you will execute service workon rolling stock and energy storing systemswith low to mediumcomplexity according to work instructions andin accordance withABB standardprocesses, qualitystandardsand safety guidelines. You will be in closecooperation with customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical pointwhile delivering quality and satisfying customer service.

Reporting to the Head of Field Service, you willbe responsible forprovidingroutine maintenance and on-site or remote technical support. The positioninvolves approximately50 daysof domestic and30 daysof international travel,as you will be providing hands-onassistanceat customer sites.

The main responsibilities include

• Performing service tasks like installation and commissioning of equipment,identifyingtechnical problems, making analysis through remote or on-siteactivity in different service categories (installation and commissioning,routine maintenance, extensions, replacements etc.)

• Consulting with and advising customers on the best service solutionsinaccordance withstandard processes, procedures, and safety guidelines. Furthermore creating andmaintainingstrong relationships with customers, appreciatingtheir needs, and providing specialistassistanceand solutions

• Coordinating and executing specialist projects through planning, meetingmilestonesand regular reviews

• Troubleshooting simple equipment failure and making recommendations toavoid repeating the problem in the future.Identifyingopportunities to develop new service applications,equipmentandmethods

Qualifications for the role

• Four years of experience in electrical work, testing, maintenance, or service,working as test- or commissioning engineer with power electronics or onelectrical vehicles

• Knowledge and hands-on experience in servicing,maintaining,commissioningand repairing ofpower electronic products

• Ability to travel worldwide

• Proven leadership skills, with a collaborative, solution-focusedapproachandstrong written and spoken communication skills

• A technician or engineer bachelor’s degree in electrotechnics

• Required language skills are fluent GermanandEnglish,Frenchis a plus
