Job Description

Wood is recruiting a Senior Facilities M&E Engineer, who has a vast experience in onshore building design consultant to join our Kuala Lumpur Office team to support the Project and Operations APAC (West) engineering activities. The successful candidate will lead the M&E engineering and design efforts from the Detailed Engineering Stage through to Issue For Construction, ensuring that all project drawings and documents meet high standards of quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the M&E engineering scope throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, including design, detailing, and construction documentation.
Develop comprehensive engineering specifications, and detailed drawings for M&E systems.
Ensure all M&E systems designs meet local codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
Provide innovative and practical solutions to complex engineering problems, optimizing designs for performance and efficiency.
Collaborate effectively with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to integrate M&E systems seamlessly into the overall building design.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to anticipate potential project challenges.
Manage project timelines, delivering high-quality outputs under pressure and with minimal supervision.
Liaise with clients and stakeholders to communicate project progress, address concerns, and incorporate feedback.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements to continuously improve M&E design practices.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to other project teams.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Professional engineering license or certification is added advantage.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in M&E engineering for building design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of managing large-scale building projects from design through construction.
Strong technical skills in M&E design and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and work collaboratively in diverse teams.
