If you are an Embedded Software Design Engineer looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Pune, India location, you will be a member of a collaborative product development group. You will have the opportunity to work with global technical teams who develop the Firmware for Pressure and Temperature products for Emerson business units located across the globe. You’ll be employed for Emerson Innovation Centre, Pune (EICP)

In this role your responsibilities will be :

• Report to the local EICP Software Design Lead Engineer
• Work with Local leader to facilitate product knowledge and develop quality culture
• Work with cross-functional and global teams to develop and contribute Emerson’s pressure and temperature industrial measurement products
• Participate in Firmware/Software requirements activities, including elicitation, analysis, and documentation
• Perform Object-Oriented Design and coding of real-time embedded software
• Participate in extensive peer reviews
• Create and execute unit and integration tests
• Debug Firmware and Hardware/Firmware integration issues
• Be Innovative and contribute to the quality development culture within organization.

You relate comfortably with people across levels, functions, cultures, and geography. You are a self-motivated, team-oriented individual who can set and achieve goals. You are interested in learning, problem solving, and you collaborate well with others. You work with other functional groups that includes Electronics HW Engineering, Software Test, and User Interface Software.

For this role, you will need :

• Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electronics Engineering
• 4-7 years of applicable experience
• Knowledgeable in microcontroller-based software and real-time systems
• Ability to flex working hours to accommodate global time differences

Preferred Qualifications that set you apart:

• Experience working with international teams
• Familiarity with industrial digital communication protocols (e.g. 4-20mA, HART, Modbus)
• Experience with related technologies (C/C++, Object- Oriented Design, UML, real-time operating systems, microcontrollers, serial communication protocols such as SPI, SCI, IIC, CAN)
• Practical experience with a variety of lifecycle models (waterfall, Agile, etc)
