YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an Electronics Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer to develop control electronics at ABB Oy. In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your skills and technical expertise to excel in various frequency converter related design projects, such as parallel connected drives or multilevel inverters. You are accountable for defining, designing, and testing electronics systems for frequency converters. Your title and exact role are depending on your work experience and expertise. The work model for the role is: #LI-hybrid This role is contributing to the System Drives division in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. You will be mainly accountable for: • Developing frequency converter electronics circuits and systems from idea to production within agreed schedule • Taking care of related outsourced services based on needs, e.g. layout design or third-party testing • Testing, proofing and documenting the functionality and reliability of the designed circuits • Contributing to system design and testing • Working in a safe way and creating safe products You will join a dynamic, talented and high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• Ability to demonstrate your experience in printed circuit board design, as well as analog and digital electronics design is essential
• Practical experience and know-how of electronics simulation and design tools is a must
• Established design experience of power supplies and inductive components is essential
• M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Electronics or in a similar field
• You are at ease communicating in English. Finnish skills are considered as a plus
• Understanding of frequency converter principles and main circuits are beneficial. In addition, functional safety circuit know-how is an advantage
