PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Bechtel is among the most respected engineering, project management, and construction companies in the world. Bechtel operates through five global business units that specialize in infrastructure; mining and metals; nuclear, security and environmental; energy and manufacturing and technology. Bechtel’s focus on renewables and clean energy is helping our customers deliver transformational projects improving the global carbon footprint on a path to net zero. The Bechtel renewables team will perform project management, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup for utility-scale photovoltaic generating plants throughout various locations in the US.

The Escape Solar Project is a 185MWac / 226.5MWdc utility-scale PV solar project, located Lincoln County, NV. The owner has the necessary approvals and commercial arrangements in place for an initial build of 70MWac (Block 1) followed by the remaining 115 MWac. (Block 2).

JOB SUMMARY:

The Electrical Superintendent – Wiring/Terminations/SCADA is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the applicable discipline. Supervises and directs craft, craft supervisors and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and contractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Reports to Project Site Superintendent for daily scheduled work priorities, coordinating with other disciplines and assigned specific tasks.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
• Develops planning construction methods and procedures.
• Develops projections and schedules for workforce, material, and equipment requirements.
• Responsible for the cost, schedule and support of craft labor and supporting the three week look ahead schedule for labor and equipment.
• Coordinate with other discipline superintendents and field engineers for interface coordination of construction work activities and plans.
• Support the superintendent in preparation and implementation of the 3-week look-ahead and four-week rolling schedule and budget control with support from Project Controls.
• Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.
• Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
• Lead in process quality verifications during construction phase over respective discipline using GIS software and Smart Completions.
• Support in the completion of quality documentation in SetRoute/Smart Completions through construction and system turnover.
• Enforces safe work behaviors and practices. Provides leadership for environmental, safety, health (ES&H), injury/accident and fire prevention, including safety orientation, preparing safety procedures, and leading safety meetings. Inspects project and work areas for unsafe conditions, behaviors and practices. Takes corrective actions to mitigate and eliminate.
• Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
• Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
• Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
• Implements corporate project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned electrical work activities or applicable project specific policies and procedures.
• Lead quantity tracking application for assigned discipline. Prepare material requisitions for temporary materials and coordinate with Supply Chain to obtain these materials.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Required bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience​

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Must be physically capable to conduct field inspections and participate in project walkdowns which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, walking on uneven surfaces, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of EPC and EPCM construction programs, technologies, means and methods.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of supervisory functions relating to construction field activities.
• Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) and commitment to a Zero Accident safety program
