Test Engineering Lead

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as an authority for testing and verification activities. Each day, you will facilitate completion of testing activities efficiently, timely, cost-effectively, and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by providing feedback for the design process from the testing perspective. The work model for the role is: Onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division in Richmond, VA. You will be mainly accountable for: • Designing electrical test equipment and processes to be implemented in factory production testing of high-power UPS, PDU, and STS products. • Developing, implementing, and improving relevant policies and procedures to improve testing effectiveness across the Testing function. • Testing products and systems and validating materials to ensure these follow prescribed technical specifications. • Acting as an authority to ensure all applicable requirements, maintaining test reports and certificates that prove compliance with required and applicable standards, market, or regulatory requirements in line with customer specifications, legal, or ABB internal requirements. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (or similar) with 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and detailed electrical schematics.
• Python, MATLAB, Labview or PLC programming experience preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including but not limited to the NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm Code), building codes, energy codes, etc.
• Strong grasp of 3 phase power system analysis a plus.
• Proficient in construction administration tasks such as reviewing product submittals and shop drawings, responding to Requests for Information (RFI’s), inspecting projects at various stages of construction, and providing field reports.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
