Job Description:
As an Electrical Controls Specialist, you will take ownership of applying your expertise in electrical systems, programming, and networking to ensure the successful integration of industrial automation systems. You will lead onsite startup support for conveyor control and line integration, ensuring that projects are completed on time and meet customer expectations. Your success will be measured by your ability to deliver high-quality results and drive customer satisfaction, while upholding the BW Way’s focus on People, Performance, and Products.
Primary Responsibilities
• Take ownership of preparing conveyor control systems for startup, including verifying system layouts against engineered drawings.
• Oversee system I/O and functional checkouts, including verification of field wiring, terminations, motor rotations, and network communications.
• Troubleshoot electrical and system-related issues, working closely with customers and other equipment suppliers to resolve line integration challenges.
• Perform program edits and updates to ensure proper control and integration of systems.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on system functionality and operation.
• Participate in onsite project meetings, ensuring open communication with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to assist with PLC and HMI programming
• Support control panel checkouts and validation prior to system shipment
• Provide input on electrical assembly and system design questions
Basic Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in electrical technology, Mechatronics, Automation or related field
• 2+ years in industrial automation, controls or related experience (preferred)
• Willingness to travel up to 50% for onsite support
