About the job:
Kent is looking for a Electrical Commissioning Technicianto be based in Port Arthur, TX.Skills and Responsibilities:
• Report to Electrical Lead Technician.
• Reports to the Electrical commissioning lead for planning and execution management support.
• Carries out Electrical commissioning execution work as directed.
• Communicates with the Electrical Commissioning lead for technical support.
• Carries out electrical equipment installation inspections as per project check sheets.
• Carries out electrical function test as per project check sheets and procedures.
• Complete project check sheets activities.
• Always demonstrate personal HSSE leadership and excellent HSE behaviors and ensure that safety expectations are communicated and maintained.
• Attend all mandatory training as specified in HSE and Permit To Work training schedule.
• Ensure submit daily the check sheets records of testing carried out.
• Ensure all team members are fully aware and understand all the projects safe working practices and adhere to them to maintain a SAFE working environment.
• Testing of LV & HV distribution boards and circuits
• Testing of motor control centers, motors, stop/start circuits and associated overloads
• Testing of trace heating systems and Direct Electrical Heaters
• Testing of Cathodic protection circuits and equipment
• Performing motor, no load runs
• Assist discipline engineers to compile Livening Up Notices to allow sub system/system energization.
• Take part in Tri Party Sub System/System Mechanical Completion walk downs and punch list item categorization.
• System Handover Management Process pre commissioning check sheet completion
• Act as Authorized Electrical Person (AEP) for voltage levels less than 1000V AC following assessment by the Responsible Electrical Person and approval by the Site Controller.
• Undertake Performing Authority duties in accordance with PTW procedures.
• ‘As Building’ Electrical documents in accordance with project procedures.
• Hands on knowledge of escorting and providing instrument field support for commissioning vendors as required.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee’s skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee’s current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
• Proven track record of 5+ years of experience on Electrical Systems and demonstrate an understanding of Commissioning process including:
• Interpretation of Single Line Diagrams, schematics and engineering datasheets, Commissioning of HV & LV electrical power, distribution and generation systems
• Control of Work/ PTW processes during execution
• Commissioning of utility and process systems
• System Handover Management Process pre commissioning check sheet completion
Communication:
• Full fluency in English is required

• Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
