YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical know-how in mechatronics, drive technology, control engineering, modeling and simulation – that’s what it’s all about if you want to get started with us as an engineer. You will mainly be responsible for • Modeling and simulation of cold rolling applications and development of control strategies and applications for rolling mills. • Design of digital twins, including detailed simulation and validation in a simulation environment as well as optimization and testing of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) applications. • Prototyping in the Control Builder (ABB 800xA Engineering Tool) through to commissioning of the developed functions on the plant (complete development cycle). • Trustful cooperation with sales and engineering, including expert troubleshooting, identification of the source of the error and fault rectification. You will be part of a talented and creative team where you will have the opportunity to realize your own potential.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• You have in-depth knowledge of MATLAB / Simulink, IEC 61131 and C programming as well as drive technology and mechatronic systems.
• You can demonstrate relevant professional experience in the field of drive technology and mechatronic systems.
• You have knowledge of control engineering, modeling and simulation.
• You are enthusiastic and innovative in the application of software development methodology.
• You have a successfully completed degree (Master study) in mechatronics, electrical engineering, drive technology or a similar field.
• You are open to occasional international business trips.
