About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-reliant Controls Field Engineer to support the site execution of a control system upgrade on a steam turbine. You’ll be on the ground, playing a crucial part in delivering a technically challenging project with tight schedules and high expectations.
This role requires someone with strong hands-on experience in industrial controls (preferably Mark VIe) and a solid track record in installation, commissioning, and site coordination for power generation or heavy industrial systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide on-site support for the pre-outage planning, including control panel installation supervision and field device cabling.
• Perform thorough checks on existing cable schedules and control signal terminations.
• Supervise the installation of new control systems and hardware.
• Carry out commissioning tasks including loop checks, static and functional tests, system start-up, and tuning.
• Ensure control cabinet terminations are completed as per design documentation.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with site rules and work permit requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, redlines, and final commissioning reports.
• Deliver brief, hands-on training to client personnel following commissioning.
Requirements
• Previous experience commissioning Mark VIe control systems (or equivalent industrial control platforms).
• Proven experience with control upgrades on steam turbines or similar rotating machinery.
• Comfortable working independently in the field, directly with the client team.
• Able to manage LOTO procedures, job hazard analysis, and safe work method statements.
• Valid certifications for field work (e.g. Electrical Safety, Work at Heights, etc.) preferred.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Willingness to be based at site in Indonesia for the full project duration.
