Controls Engineer with Functional Safety

Controls Engineer – South Yorkshire – £50-62.5k + overtime + private healthcare + flexi-time system

Samuel Frank is recruiting an experienced Controls Engineer to join a rapidly expanding system integrator based in the South Yorkshire area. Controls Engineers with experience in writing code from scratch for a system integrator will be well suited to this opportunity.

Controls Engineers applying for this role should have experience in the following areas:

• Proven experience in developing PLC software for major vendors such as Rockwell, GE, or Siemens
• SCADA experience across a range of manufacturers such as GE, Siemens, Rockwell
• Ability to write high-quality Functional Design Specifications
• Functional Safety systems in accordance with IEC 61508 / 61511
• Good knowledge of communication protocols
• Strong fault-finding skills on hardware and software
• Experience in functional safety and systems development in accordance with IEC 61508 / 61511, working with Information Management Systems, and offshore work would be advantageous but not essential.

Key aspects of the Controls Engineer position include:

– The role will involve an 80/20 split between working in the office and being based on customer sites

• – Offshore work is not a mandatory part of the role
• – All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship
