The position relies primarily on established policies, procedures, and applicable work practices to make decisions as they apply to the job duties and responsibilities.Operating under detailed instructions and review, the purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical knowledge and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace, by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. The purpose of this position is to work on design and perform 3D layout of a small set of moderately difficult assignments to support the Design Area Lead or Lead.
• Participate in model review using 3D review platform and create 3D models of moderate complexity
• Apply project drawing standards to design drawings and 3D layout
• Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of moderate complexity
• Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects
• Develop estimates, schedules, progress reports, and key quantities tracking reports
• Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design
• Review vendor equipment documentation of basic complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
• Deliver quality work, and adhere to the Operating System Requirements (OSR)
• Execute project work in accordance with approved Activity Plans
• Provide close interface with, and promote the understanding of, other discipline functions
• Engage Fluor’s global community, promoting a One Fluor mindset
• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures
• Participate in and promote the use of Fluor’s knowledge management portals and communities
• Support Functional Process Lead and Department Manager on initiatives
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
• Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study, or; A combination of education and directly related experience equal to four(4) years*;some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Revit modeling
• S3D modeling
• SPI (modules: Instrument Index, Wiring, and Loop)
• Installation details
• Instrument Location plan
• Can read and understand P&ID
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
• Practical field experience
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs

Other Job Requirements

Control Systems
• Use the Hexagon Smart® Instrumentation database to load instrument indexes and wiring information and generate reports and loops
• Develop and check of wiring and loop diagrams
• Check or audit control systems models and drawings
• Develop control systems area and unit location plan drawings
• Perform basic design calculations (e.g., wire sizing, conduit fill, voltage drop, junction box or panel sizing)
• Create and assign intermediate complexity instrument installation details
• Advanced knowledge of controlsystemsrepresentation on drawings and knowledge of 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD)
• Intermediate knowledge of:o Fluor design guides, control systems technical practices and control systems design drawingso 3D CAD systems and procedureso Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) representation; has the ability to recognize/report problems associated with control systems representation on P&IDo Instrumentation and control systems design in a 3D model
• Basic knowledge of:o Hexagon Smart® Instrumentation softwareo Hexagon Smart® Review softwareo 3D modeling software (Hexagon Smart® 3D, etc.)
