Solution Engineering Manager
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will be responsible for application development of a water treatment control systems plant based in Singapore. Working in Customer’s Site in Tuas, reporting to the Engineering Manager-In-Project, you will be responsible for the successful delivery for multiple tasks under project on time, within budget, and in line with contract specifications and relevant quality and safety guidelines. The work mode for this role is: Onsite This role will be contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries Division of ABB, Singapore. You will be mainly responsible for: • Analyzing customer inputs and understand requirements such as Design Specifications, P&IDs, Control Narratives, IO lists, Instrument Index, Operating Philosophies, etc. • Raising Technical Queries and clarification to customer. • Performing I/O to Controller Assignment and creating work plans and cost estimates in one’s area of responsibility. • Defining software concepts and make write-up for functional design specification and third-party interfaces (Modbus, Profibus, OPC, etc.) • Developing configuration and test guidelines, application library (Logic as well as graphics) and project-specific application typical and application Typical Test • Designing and developing I/O & base control modules and customized logic, complex logic, and graphics • Developing an internal test plan and performing internal testing • Interacting with customers, officials, contractors and others; Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
• A Bachelor degree in Control Systems Engineering or similar field.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a control systems project engineering role, preferably including about 2 years’ experience in water, or used water treatment systems
• Ability to recognize and respond to dynamic demands
• Ability to relate with different groups of people at various levels of the organization
• Pragmatic approach to scope of work and work environment
• Experience in ABB 800xA AC800M programming preferred.
• Knowledge of DCS logic/graphic development & testing
• Familiar with IEC61131-3 languages, such as: Function Block Diagram, Sequential Flow chart,
• Structured Text, etc.
• Knowledge of various third-party interfaces and integration methods and FieldBus such as
• Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, etc.
• Basic knowledge on Virtualization & Cyber security preferred
• Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools, including PLC application
• programming experiences (Function blocks, logic diagram, etc.)
• Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace

• A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
• A collaborative approach to working, demonstrating strong communication and leadership skills
