We are currently recruiting for an Automation Technical Professional – Entry Level to join our team in Houston, TX or Baton Rouge, LA in the December 2024 or May 2025 timeframe.

Our automation team works on hands-on projects that span the full spectrum – from small integration projects to Main Automation Contractor programs for large, multi-EPC projects.
At this time, we will only consider applications from citizens of the UNITED STATES or those with the required permit/VISA for this region, in place.
Responsibilities
Participate in Automation Engineering projects for the design and implementation of automation systems for oil & gas and process industry projects (greenfield and brownfield migrations), directly interfacing with our clients.
Engage in all phases of automation projects, front-end engineering through detailed design, configuration, implementation, startup, and commissioning.
Will apply design data from piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and instrument databases, develop control system design and configuration databases, operator graphics, configure and test various types of control systems.
Travel expected to customer locations for project implementation (10-25%).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in one of the following Engineering disciplines: Chemical, Electrical, Computers/Systems, or Mechatronics.
Between 0 and 2 years of professional experience
Interest in control and information system engineering for the oil and gas and petrochemicals industries with focus on process control and safety
Familiarity with systems concepts, computer, and software systems and/or networks is a plus.
Familiarity with basic cyber security concepts is a plus.
Quality written and verbal communication skills.
A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Must be US citizen or authorized to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood.
