Wood is currently recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support on a critical project within a portfolio for a high-profile blue-chip client in the UK. The APM will join our Systems Integration team within our Digital Consulting business.
Due to the nature of the projects the sites are spread across the UK. This project is based in the North East of Scotland, so a preference would be to be hybrid from the Aberdeen office. However, the role can be based at any of our UK offices on a hybrid / remote basis with the expectation of regular travel as required.
Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring APM with a proven track record in managing the delivery of critical projects.
In this role you will contribute to and review project proposals and consolidated plans to determine timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
You will be part of the project management team providing interface and forging strong relationships with all key stakeholders both internally and externally. You will also be critical in ensuring compliance with all Consulting Project Management Office (PMO) standards, process and tools.

Responsibilities
The key objectives for this role are:Drive compliance with Consulting PMO standards, processes and toolsResponsible for directing, organising and controlling activities on small to medium sized projects or portions or larger projects under the direction of a Project ManagerImplementation and completion of defined project(s), managing scope, cost, schedule and risk, managing change and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is in placeSupport the project team by overseeing and monitoring project progress according to agreed measures and organisational procedures, recommending corrective action where necessaryRegularly reviews and reports project progress to senior management and clientRequires knowledge and experience of the technical / functional area being managed and an awareness of the business issuesThe role interfaces with a number of key stakeholders across the project and wider business
