YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Are you Engineer with an interest in and experience with robots, and are you looking for an exciting job with significant impact? Then read on! At ABB, we are experts in automation systems for process plants. Now, we are taking the next natural step into manufacturing, where robots play a significant role. We need our automation equipment to interact with robots on production lines so that the robots can operate seamlessly in various applications. We already have the necessary ABB-components. Now, we need to establish the right project setup, with you as a key contributor. We are to a wide extent building the road as we drive on it. You will be part of at least one large project, involving 35–45 colleagues in total. The project runs in 5-6 streams, each led by a dedicated project manager. The robotics stream typically consists of 10-15 participants, including both Danish colleagues and colleagues from ABB’s international organization. You will, for example, work on developing digital twins during the design phase to eliminate errors and optimize the overall system before diving into engineering work. You are free to choose your preferred base office: Ballerup, Middelfart, or Esbjerg. All locations offer competent, supportive colleagues, and a hybrid workplace with great flexibility. Your responsibilities: • Contribute to defining the right setup for integrating automation and production robots. • Set direction and establish appropriate design requirements in collaboration with colleagues. • Interpret standards from various suppliers and define new standards for customer approval. • Perform application programming for devices and industrial communication to integrate systems. • Create visual presentations and deliver them effectively. • Participate in on-site commissioning at customer locations (periodically). • Document your work to facilitate future system enhancements.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
• Degree in engineering, marine engineering, automation technology, or a similar field.
• At least a couple of years of practical experience in projects involving discrete automation with robots.
• Experience in at least two of the following areas or equivalent:
• – Simulation and emulation of production process flow.
• – Discrete automation for production lines, potentially including PackML.
• – ABB RobotStudio and programming in Omnicore or similar.
