Job Description
Wood is presently looking to hire Technical Safety Engineer in the Philippines
Responsibilities
Technical Assurance (engineering quality assurance and control)
Resource management
Standardization and replication across the Contract
Contributing to the delivery of Engineering excellence through achieving project completion to the project specifications on schedule
Being accountable for the quality of Technical Safety deliverables
Providing Technical Safety guidance to the team
Supporting and supervising task delegation to team
Executing assigned scopes of work
Providing discipline expertise to the business
Participating in project HAZOP, DSR, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops when required
Providing sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline
Co-ordinating with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up
Providing technical support to site / replying to STQs as required
Ensure that all project Health, Safety and Environmental policies are complied with
Ensure that design meets all Technical Safety requirements and maintains risks to as low as reasonably practicable
Participate in audits and incident investigations as required
Actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development
Self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments
Expert knowledge of the fundamentals of Technical Safety engineering methodologies, software systems, and design practices as they relate to FEED, Detail Design, Construction, Commissioning, and plant Start-up
Expert awareness of International codes and standards, Shell DEPs
Expert knowledge of design deliverables associated with loss prevention scopes
Expert knowledge of plant safety distance criteria and provide input to Plot plans
Experience of coordinating HAZOP, HAZID, SIL Classification studies and ALARP notes
Experience of directing Management of Change (MOC) reviews
Able to perform or review of Physical Hazard Effects (PHE) modeling as required
Able to interrogate and review and perform Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) as required
TSE vendor documents review related to FW system, Firefighting, Safety equipment and Safety signs
Qualifications
Degree qualification in an engineering discipline is essential
Experience of working on Concept and FEED project phases
Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at a relevant level and position
Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
Previous experience of site-based project work involving field engineering, construction,commissioning, operations, or maintenance would be an advantage
Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
Previous experience of working in the Middle East / Iraq and Brown field projects would be an advantage
