Project Overview:

Driftwood LNG LLC is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary:

Lead Electrical Field Engineer is responsible for activities relating to construction engineering within the electrical discipline. Duties include interpreting electrical design drawings and specifications, cable installations and terminations, field verification of materials, and technical direction to field electrical personnel as required.#LI-BH1

Major Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues relating to the electrical discipline such as installation and testing of electrical systems, lighting systems, high voltage equipment, grounding, and DCS systems.
• Establish an electrical design/field engineering working relationship and lines of communication with the Project Engineer, including agreement on electrical engineering deliverables and overall construction application configuration management.
• Responsible for quantity take-off, control, tracking, reporting and forecasting for electrical discipline.
• Specify the electrical criteria for construction of temporary construction facilities as required.
• Direct the preparation of requisitions for field procured materials, material substitution, services and equipment including panels, motors and switchgear.
• Approve field requisitions as delegated by the Project Field Engineer.
• Review material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct electrical materials.
• Coordinate and monitor the interfaces for electrical data exchange to support the construction automation plan and the project controls program requirements at the jobsite.
• Develop and manage the electrical construction quality program.
• Direct preparation of cost estimates for electrical construction activities and coordinate the preparation of cost reports, forecast and progress reports.
• Coordinate with Field Supervision and Subcontractors to plan/support construction schedules.
• Plan and recommend electrical procedures to be implemented by Field Supervision to ensure construction operations are within requirements of engineering design and specifications.
• Work with customer’s resident engineering and operating personnel to coordinate electrical construction activities.
• Coordinate subcontract activities to ensure electrical materials, equipment and quality comply with design plans and specifications.
• Implement controls over variables affecting electrical installation progress such as raceway, cable, terminations and equipment. Also ensure engineering and procurement provide timely delivery of drawings, materials and equipment and that other corporate programs are fully utilized.
• Administer major subcontract changes regarding the electrical discipline and represent the company in major contractual discussions and negotiations.
• Perform other duties as required by Bechtel management.
• Validate and submit (discipline) construction quantities for Quantity Unit Rate Report (QURR) tracking.
• Interface with Project Controls for submittal of quantities to ePCWorks.
• Oversee the implementation of procedures and permits required for electrical work (such as lock out/tag out)

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Required bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience in construction and technical inspection of electrical/design in areas such as installation and testing of electrical systems, lighting systems, high voltage equipment, classified area rated equipment, grounding, DCS systems and cable pulling activities.
• Experience with installing gas insulated switchgear (medium and high voltage)
• Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
• Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
• Must be familiar with current industry quality standards.
• Basic ability to utilize the TeamWorks suite and SetRoute application as the Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
• Basic knowledge of Project Technical Requests (PTR) for routing and resolving Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Change Documents (FCDs), and Non Conformance/Compliance Reports (NCRs) between project sites, contractors, clients, and home office.
• Basic knowledge of work packaging and basic ability to manipulate completions module and PunchWorks for interface with the start-up team.
• Familiarity with STCP’s and CSU work processes.

Additional Requirements:

• Intermediate understanding of production management including scheduling.
• Intermediate communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development.
• Previous supervisory experience within electrical discipline.

Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
