Job Description
As a Software Engineer for Rockwell Automation, you will design industry-leading commercial software, known for its innovation and usability. You will also perform basic software testing tasks including test planning, scheduling, and execution. You will be involved in subsystem design, implementation, and testing, working with the support of our senior engineers. You will play an active role in all the stages of the development lifecycle and support your team throughout the process. You will also help ensure that developed products meet requirements and are within total quality management standards. You will collaborate with multiple global teams. You will also seek knowledge of new developments in the software engineering, computer engineering, and test automation fields and will identify and pursue career training opportunities.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• You will develop subsystem designs by understanding and following the software subsystem requirements.
• You will establishe a timeline for the design and can report the progress. Consider tradeoffs between requirements, speed, cost, and reliability in the choice of a design approach.
• You will develop and document code that meets the requirements of the software design.
• You will develop unit test plans. Report anomalies. Take the lead in the integration of other components to produce a final product.
• You will participate in reviews of documents, design, code, test cases and user documentation.
• You will use automated test tools and methods to ensure full functional coverage is attained.
• You will perform routine product testing using existing test collateral and test cases. Report any issues identified and documenting test results for follow-up.
• You will build relationships and work with peers to ensure assigned tasks are prioritized.
• You will seek knowledge of new developments in the software engineering, computer engineering, and software testing fields.
• You will identify software development capability improvements in software development practices, development tools, and test automation. May present ideas to the team for consideration.
THE ESSENTIALS – YOU WILL HAVE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
THE PREFERRED – YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE:
• 2 years of experience in a software product development environment
• 2 years of experience applying basic knowledge of C++, C#, F# or other relevant programming languages
• 2 Years of experience applying basic knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience with object-oriented designs
• 1 year of experience with design patterns
• 1 year of experience applying basic knowledge of software test methodologies
• 1 year of experience applying basic knowledge of automated test tools
