Advanced System Engineer (Model-Based Engineering)

As an Advanced Systems Engineer within the Satcom Engineering Group here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of advanced satellite communication systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of complex projects and drive innovation in the field of satellite communication. Your expertise in systems engineering and satellite communication technologies will be instrumental in shaping the future of our technological advancements.

You will report directly to our Systems Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Kanata, ON location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the development and implementation of cutting-edge satellite communication systems, contributing to the advancement of global connectivity and communication. You will collaborate with a team of highly skilled engineers to design and optimize satellite communication solutions, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in the design and development of advanced satellite communication systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of satellite communication solutions
• Conduct system analysis and performance evaluations to optimize system design
• Drive innovation in satellite communication technologies and contribute to the development of new products and solutions
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project teams
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in satellite communication technologies
• Must be able to travel less than 10% of the time

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in aircraft or communications systems engineering
• 2+ years experience in model-based engineering (SysML)

WE VALUE

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field

• Strong knowledge of satellite communication protocols and standard
• Experience with satellite communication system testing and validation
• Knowledge of antenna design and RF engineering
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
