PROJECT OVERVIEW:
TROJENA (The Mountains of NEOM) will be an iconic, world-class destination, blending natural and developed landscapes and will offer unique experiences for residents and visitors alike. Located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia in the region of Tabuk just 50km from the coast, TROJENA will be a destination like no other on earth. Based upon the principles of eco-tourism facilities will include a folded vertical village, a lake with water sports and event facilities, high altitude ski village, observatory, world leading health and wellbeing facilities and a nature reserve which will be home to unique wildlife, heritage sites and exploration opportunities. With over 3,600 hotel, 2,200 homes, 9 iconic buildings and 100 world class indoor and outdoor experiences Trojena will become the ultimate mountain destination. JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Project Manager (MEP) is responsible for managing, coordinating, and driving the contract formation, supplier selection, contractor mobilization and work completion of iconic and architecturally significant residential buildings scope. Bechtel is the Project Management Consultant managing the contractors performing the work. The role will span from the conceptual stages through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, performance testing, initial operations, occupancy, and contract close-out.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate complex technical issues when required through the Line Management hierarchy, as well as provide/ recommend/offer solutions to Client, project, and functional management
Ensures required equipment, permits and licenses are in place prior to the start of the specific work at site and verifies compliance with Permit and License requirements and stipulations
Maintaining an interactive and effective relationship with client, stakeholders and other functional departments and interpreting their needs and requirements
Identify gaps, provide analysis, and develop options on impact to closing any project engineering requirements
Coordinate and ensure the testing and commissioning of induvial MEP systems are coordinated with the Contractors and responsible for the final integration of the overall system. Will lead the fire safety requirements and handover of MEP systems to the operator
Creating frameworks to measure the project’s metrics and data collection. Raise trends, submit to project controls, and prepare Design Change Notices
Champions the creation of a project work environment, supported by leadership on the project/program, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction
Reviews system specifications, design concepts, control systems, technical calculations, technical specifications, and technical drawings of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, information communication technology, security, fire systems and the like
Assists with on-site observations during construction and coordinates design requirements with contractors and equipment suppliers under the direction of project engineer
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 20 years of experience in construction industry with MEP integration and handover of MEP systems.
A recognized bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or construction
Minimum 15 Years of experience in progressively senior positions on high end or signature multi-use projects
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Thorough knowledge of system integration and handover of both wet and dry utilities.
Thorough knowledge of contract formation and administration management
Thorough knowledge of major project management requirements and safety procedures and practices associated with the construction works.
Experience in performance management and improvement of distressed projects or contracts.
Experience in mobilizing and managing multiple sites at any point in time.
Preferred experience in major construction works of residential and infrastructure facilities.
Experience in KSA / Middle east / GCC, either on Construction Management role or Direct Hire Construction experience on construction projects
Must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the Client, Contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
Takes full accountability for effectively prioritizing and managing their own workload, utilizing tools/resources at the appropriate time.
