Job Description:
Job Summary:
The EMEA Applications Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of concept and estimating of equipment and solutions. In particular the focus will be on labelling product lines which ensure the growth, competitiveness and profitability of our product solutions while mitigating the risk of each project and application. This individual will utilize a good understanding of the wide range of applications of BWIS and other complimentary BW products, along with our client’s needs, in generating the optimal concepts, estimates, and quotes.
ESSENTIALDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Resource
• Provide technical expertise to our Sales Executives and customers regarding our product lines.
• Support Sales Executives in presenting and explaining our solutions to customers.
• Maintain standards library for equipment layouts.
• Provide technical assistance to operations as sold work is defined and executed.
• Occasional travel to customer’s site to review project details and/or present our proposal
• May participate in project-related meetings including design reviews, assembly kick offs, team and site communications, acceptance tests and post project reviews.
Layout Drawings
• Evaluate customer requirements to determine the appropriate automation solution.
• Create a floor plan drawing of proposed solution in AutoCAD.
• Work with the customer supplied layout of their facility to determine location of our machine and connections to upstream and downstream equipment.
• Detail the layout drawing with dimensions, utilities, elevations and other call-outs as required.
• Integrate OEM supplied system components into our layout drawing.
Proposals
• Review customer specifications to ensure expectations are met by our solution.
• Estimate costing (materials and labor) of our proposed solution using costing tools.
• Consult with engineering on new concepts and associated costing.
• Keep CRM program up to date with quoting activity.
• Develop complete proposal package as deliverable to our customer

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
:
Essential Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or HND/HNC
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Highly self-motivated, must work well with little to no supervision.
• Possess excellent communication skills using various modes of communication.
• Exceptionally strong organizational skills including planning and scheduling abilities.
Desirable Qualifications
• Experience in SolidWorks/AutoCAD
• Experience with MS Dynamics 365
• Specific expertise in labelling applications
• Knowledge of packaging automation systems integration
ADA REQUIREMENTS
:
• Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for operation of a computer
• Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly
• Lift, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 15 Kgs. occasionally
• Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards
• Occasional travel withing the UK to customer sites or other BW locations (approx. 10%)
