PORTS HAVE MANY ELECTRICAL CONSUMERS, SUCH AS SHIP-TO-SHORE CRANES, STACKING CRANES, REEFER SOCKETS, SHORE POWER, ELECTRIC VEHICLES, AND BUILDINGS. WITHIN OUR TEAM IN PANAMA, WE DESIGN AND BUILD ELECTRICAL AND AUTOMATION INFRASTRUCTURE TO PROVIDE RELIABLE AND SUSTAINABLE POWER TO OUR CUSTOMERS, ENABLING THEM TO HANDLE CONTAINERS EFFICIENTLY. OUR SCOPE INCLUDES MEDIUM VOLTAGE SUBSTATIONS, SCADA SYSTEMS, TERMINAL LIGHTING, REEFER RACKS AND THEIR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, ELECTRICAL VEHICLE CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURE, AND GRID CONNECTION SUBSTATIONS, AMONG OTHERS. OUR CORE PRODUCTS ARE PREFABRICATED SUBSTATIONS BUILT IN OUR FACILITIES IN PANAMA. THESE SUBSTATIONS ARE FULLY TESTED AND COMMISSIONED BEFORE THEY ARRIVE AT THE CONSTRUCTION SITE. THESE SUBSTATIONS INCLUDE MEDIUM-VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR, TRANSFORMERS, LOW-VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR, UPS, DC SYSTEMS, SCADA, FIRE ALARMS, AND CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS. OUR PROJECT LOCATIONS SPAN THE GLOBE, COVERING THE MIDDLE EAST, AFRICA, EUROPE, AND LATIN AMERICA. THEY TYPICALLY TAKE AROUND 24 MONTHS TO COMPLETE. SAFETY AND INTEGRITY ARE PART OF OUR DNA THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT LIFECYCLE.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To strengthen our team, we are searching for a Project Engineer, to take the end-to-end responsibility for the technical scope of the projects. 1. Design: Together with the design department, the project engineer is responsible to develop the electrical infrastructure of the project, selecting the equipment from Medium Voltage, Transformers Low Voltage, UPS, DC, SCADA Systems and Fiber Optic. The Project Engineer shall manage the interphases with different disciplines like: Panamá Assembly Location: Give the sizing of all internal equipment’s, so that the prefabricated substations structural design is suitable for all equipment’s inside. Civil: Give correct input to the civil company regarding ABB Equipment’s, number of pipes, and Substations, so that the foundations or buildings are suitable for the electrical equipment and no clash will occur. SCADA Team: Exchange all documents from the ABB factories with the SCADA team of ABB to ensure all signals and communication interphases are installed. Engineering Department: Lead the engineering team assigned to the project to prepare the basic and detailed engineering, which are enlisted below: 1. Cable Calculations of MV and LV 2. Load flow and short circuit studies. 3. Protection studies. 4. Grounding and lightning protection studies 5. As-built documentation 6. Interphase drawings 7. Support on the Commissioning at site. 8. Support on Method Statements Finance Department: Cost Control, ensuring procurement on time and in large quantities. Planning: Ensuring the engineering is closed on time to meet the planning schedule of the project. 2. Manufacturing Project engineer shall select the equipment’s based on the list of vendors available from ABB and their technical offer, in which he/she must compare it with, technical specifications of the contract, lead times and cost. After receiving the drawings from factories and reviewing, the documentation shall be submitted to customer for approval and give follow-up to the factories before FAT. Project Engineer shall attend FATs of equipment, virtual or in presence. 3. Site Execution Once all equipment is produced and with FAT, they should be transported to site. Project Engineer should oversee coordinating the reception of the equipment, coordinate with customer for the installation and commissioning of them, according to IEC specifications and in accordance with the scope of the contract. Project Engineer should be involved and lead the entire process until final reception and handover to the terminals. He also establish the method statement and testing – pass criteria

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
• Previous experience working in electrical area.
• Knowledge of electrical designs of low and medium voltage.
• 1 year of experience in similar roles working with projects.
• Availability to travel.
• Intermediate – advanced English level
