Engineering Manager

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you ready to dive into the world of automation and contribute to ABB’s way of energy transition? Working as a Project Engineer, you will design and maintain distributed control system solutions throughout the entire life cycle for customers in the Energy market by close collaboration with the Sales team. Reporting to the engineering manager, you execute engineering activities and contribute with new ideas for DCS projects, to reach successful on-time completion of project deliverables, in line with quality standards and safety guidelines. The work model for the role is hybrid. You will be mainly accountable for: • Realize control system projects for Swiss and International customers on energy production and industrial plants. • Elaborating smart solutions for control system upgrades or extensions, integration of new communication interfaces, data management, cyber security, and new process requirements. • Assisting project managers and project lead engineers in technical reviews and discussions with customers, partners, subcontractors, and vendors. • Helping customers by resolving technical issues remotely or at customer sites while building a sustainable relationship with existing clients as well as maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the project.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an Engineering field.
• Experience in planning, designing, and engineering automation applications (hardware & software).
• Know-how in system design, configuration, installation, interfacing with third-party systems, library development, and troubleshooting (knowledge of the platforms ABB 800xA and AC800M are a plus).
• Pro-active and reliable personality with a passion for the field of control systems and automation technologies.
• High level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (10 – 30%).
• Fluency in English and German (French is a plus).
