THIS POSITION REPORTS TO

R&D Team Lead

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.
Lead and execute the product localization project to ensure timeframe, quality, and cost requirements.
Support and execute for new product development project industrialization to ensure timeframe, quality, and cost requirements.
Provide technical support for improvement projects such as OPEX saving, FPY, second source, etc.
Continuously optimize and improve project management processes and mechanisms based on project management practices.
Leading of engineering change implementation in manufacturing unit.
Clarify product/part requirement and perform sample evaluation.
Lead trial production & small batch production for the quality validation.
Lead abnormal production technical issues analyzing & solving based on PPS’ rule.
Responsible for mPart& mBOM maintenance in gPLM;
Provide technical support to other projects (e.g., global second source, internal/external process equipment start-up);
Support PFMEA analysis and improvement, assist other department for supplier audit.
Define the product testing parameter.
Product direct cost benchmark set up.
Product direct cost monitoring and early warning。
Execute for product optimization development project (POD).
Collect and evaluate necessary mold budget for mass production operation and the new product development.
Responsible for mold investment application evaluation and decision making.
Provide technical support to mold supplier if technical problem happens.
Work with line manager for team efficiency improvement by process continuously optimization Work with line manager for team technical capability improvement by Knowledge accumulation and sharing mechanism setup
Responsible for organizing and coordinating the resolution of complex technical problems, and updating and improving the guidelines for solving key technical problems.
Proficient in using relevant production technology solutions tools and methods (DOE, Six Sigma, etc.) to provide technical support and guidance for IPU.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or relevant field
• At least 5 years working experience with min. 3 years’ experience in product design
• Understand the Function design method, good experience at using tolerance analyzing
• Proficient of MS office, well understand AutoCAD, CREO or UG
• Good of oral, reading and express technical solutions in English
• Have strong analytical skills and good communication skills, know how to observe, analyze the results caused by process changes or design issue, and takes rapid actions to prevent them beforehand. Knowledge of commonly used engineering materials, e.g., metals, plastics, etc.
• Familiar with moulds and jigs
• Ability to work independently without supervision and able to handle high volumes of work.
• Familiar with problem solving tools such as Lean Six Sigma, FMEA, DOE, FMEA, SPC, MSA, etc.
