For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $96,000 – $140,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We are seeking dynamic engineers with innovative thinking and strong problem-solving skills to join our Residential Solar Field Service Team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving site issues, responding promptly to field escalations and tickets, identifying root causes, collecting data, and providing workarounds or escalating to the engineering team. We seek individuals with strong critical thinking skills, comprehensive mastery of both hardware and software aspects of the system, and the ability to promptly resolve field issues.

Responsibilities

• Quickly address field escalations, troubleshoot, and effectively resolve on-site issues.
• Employ advanced analytical tools and instrumentation for precise diagnosis of field issues and gathering field data for troubleshooting purposes.
• Recreate field issues in the lab and correlate data from various sources to pinpoint their root causes.
• Suggest temporary solutions for field issues and elevate them to engineering, software, and cloud teams when necessary for issue resolution.
• Become proficient in the complete system configuration, encompassing both hardware and software. Diagnose issues by examining the system comprehensively from end to end.
• Meet strict SLAs when addressing field escalations and guarantee timely prioritization and resolution of JIRA service tickets.
• Ensure thorough documentation of field issues, including the upkeep of repositories for ongoing product enhancement purposes.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical and / or systems engineering with 5+ years in the residential solar and storage space
• Field experience with residential solar and storage products is essential; having experience across one or more US regions like California, Texas, Puerto Rico, and the Northeast is advantageous.
• Hands-on knowledge of residential solar and storage installations, including intricate knowledge of solar inverters, batteries, RSDs, panel wiring configurations, and grounding/earthing schemes.
• Must be comfortable working in a laboratory environment to recreate issues and root cause.
• Must be adept with electrical instrumentation and loggers like power quality meters and meggers.
• Prior experience in addressing field challenges like power quality, arc flash, connectivity/networking, commissioning, and installation is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with codes and standards is an added bonus.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Must have excellent documentation and communication skills.
• At least 20% travel required.
