Project Overview:

Bechtel is among the most respected engineering, project management, and construction companies in the world. Bechtel operates through four global business units that specialize in infrastructure; mining and metals; nuclear, security and environmental; and energy. Today, our colleagues team with customers, partners, and suppliers on diverse projects in nearly 40 countries.

Bechtel Infrastructure will work in a Delivery Partner role within an integrated team with the customer organization for a Subway Project in Toronto, Ontario. The project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being performed by three key Contractors and multiple advanced early works (EAW) packages Contractors. Bechtel is a key component of the overall Integrated Project Delivery team (comprising the customer, MX; the Technical Advisor, and Bechtel as the Delivery Partner).

Job Summary:

The Systems and Technology Technician will work closely with the department and delivery managers (Production, Interface Management, Contracts, Field Services, Safety, etc) to deliver the technology, applications, and hardware required to deliver the project in a data-centric manner.#LI-VB1

Major Responsibilities:

• Liaise with all department leads to understand technology requirements.
• Works with the IPT Project Information & Innovation Manager (PIIM) and Digital Delivery Manager (DDM) to ensure the application requirements are considered in the deployment of tools and technology.
• Management of IPT technology, including inventory, systems architecture and optimization of data flows across systems.
• Collaborate with MX I&IT team to troubleshoot issues for IPT team members.
• Coordinating with HR, administration, and the training lead to support on-boarding and demobilization of project personnel.
• Supporting field services on deployed technology (connectivity, access, hardware) to ensure the availability of our tools and data flows.
• Working with the Senior Reporting Analyst to deliver data to dashboards and manage permissions via Microsoft directories.
• Provide ongoing support to the department managers and field services managers to ensure the tools and hardware are being utilized in accordance with the project requirements.
• Contributing towards the goal of reducing data re-entry, single-pane-of-glass concept, paperless execution, efficient automated workflow, easy access to information by close interaction with reporting team.
• Identifying improvement opportunities for input and output transaction pathways for individual applications (primavera, Aconex, Ecosys, My Safety, Petra-eGIS, other enterprise systems, Sword RAM, etc) either directly or through a Common Data Environment (CDE) by working together with the PIIM and DDM.
• UAT testing & reconfiguration if it is needed.
• Interacting with users to understand and optimize the technology on project.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• University accredited degree (preferred degree in computer science, data science, and software) with 4 to 7 years of experience, or 7 to 10 years’ experience without a university degree.
• Experience in major rail projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Data Lake/Data warehouse, various independent applications (Arc GIS, Primavera, etc) and Microsoft Forms and Power App based tools.
• Ability to work autonomously within the Project role and interface with a wide cross section of project personnel.
• Works in a fast-paced project environment with ability to respond to changing priorities from different levels of the organization.
