Job Description

Wood is seeking a Senior Offshore Structural Engineer with expertise in the offshore oil and gas sector for a key role in Ingleside, TX. As the primary discipline engineer at the fabrication yard, you’ll play a vital role in supporting project initiatives.
Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is a must, and past fabrication yard experience is a requirement

Responsibilities

Contributes to project technical delivery through:

Ability to serve as the primary discipline engineer at the fabrication yard
Use of technical knowledge to define and assess technical scopes, execute scopes of work, provide technical expertise to support project fabrication
Evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks
Ability to make design recommendations
Ability to complete almost any engineering tasks
Development and review of designs, drawings, and other engineering deliverables involving both existing and new technology and applications
Ability to execute and oversee project scope, budget and schedule
Ability to serve as the primary discipline engineer at the fabrication yard
Ability to manage and supervise discipline project team 

Qualifications

Minimum 15 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry, past fabrication yard experience is required
Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Civil / Structural Engineering discipline
Skilled knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and standards (API RP 2A, AISC, ISO, etc)
Skilled with industry software (SACS, SESAM, ANSYS, MathCAD, etc)
Able to provide guidance and direction to a project team
Able to recommend solutions to technical issues during the course of performing assignments
Able to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to the assignment / task
Able to create functional and cost effective designs that meet project requirements
Able to analyze and interpret structural drawings
Skilled in understanding project planning
Proactively communicates across work groups to resolve barriers and applies sound technical skills
Conducts work in a professional manner
Good interpersonal and team working skills, builds positive relationships
Good verbal and written communication skills
Creative and innovative in finding solutions
Enthusiastic, conscientious, and committed to continuous professional development
