Job Description
Wood is currently sourcing an Offshore Production Technician to support a client project in Equatorial Guinea.
This position is based offshore on an FPSO Vessel, working an equal time rotation, 5 weeks on / 5 weeks off.
Responsibilities
Ensuring the security of company assets by operating in a safe and efficient mannerAssist the operations team in mentoring national employees in the competency assurance and training programAssist the operations team in maximization of oil and gas production in line with company targets and completion of the daily production reportCompliance with the Safety Management SystemAssist the operations team in the monitoring, control and reaction to the process control, emergency shutdown and Fire and Gas SystemPerform the day-to-day outside duties to maintain a safe and environmentally sound operation of the assigned process facilities or areaPerform the day to day outside operational changes and or corrections as called upon by the Lead Operator / Production SupervisorBe responsible for the outside day-to-day safe and sound operation of assigned process and process-utilities, and other responsibilitiesBe responsible for isolating and preparing equipment for the first line maintenance technicians of process and process utilities as called uponDetect, identify and react to abnormal conditions that might develop into emergency situationsEnsures continuous operation of the asset. Carries out routine checks of asset operating conditions in accordance with set schedules. Includes taking samples, recording readings, checking running condition of equipment, etcMonitors asset operations on site. Includes adjusting local set points and gauges to accommodate fluctuations in operations. Reports abnormalities to the lead operator or supervisor as requiredOpens and shuts various valves manually. Starts and stops pumps and rotating equipment in accordance with set procedures and supervisors or lead operators instructionsCarries out minor maintenance and housekeeping duties as required. Includes greasing, cleaning, and replacing minor parts on platform equipmentAssists the lead production operator when required.Perform various laboratory tests as requiredCalculates various well tests/conditions to determine well parameters such as gas production, gas and condensate ratios, etc. Ensures the wells are flowing at optimal levels.Performs daily, weekly, and monthly routine activities regarding the wells and associated equipmentCo-ordination of fluid sampling on the hydrocarbon process plant and utility systems, and analysis in the laboratory by the Laboratory TechnicianControl and monitoring of the production chemistrySolving operational problems fully utilizing the planned maintenance systemParticipation in risk assessments when appropriateControl and monitoring of hydrocarbon process plant and utility systemsTake appropriate action as directed in the event of process and utility system alarms and tripsMonitoring and recording of key parameters for hydrocarbon process plant and utility systemsIt is desirable but not mandatory for the prospective employee to have experience in Process Safety Management activities. Candidate will be expected to participate in Process Safety Management activities that involve process design, process technology, operational and maintenance activities and procedures, non-routine activities and procedures, emergency preparedness plans and procedures, training programs, and other elements which could impact the process. Other elements of PSM which may touch the employee consist of:Mechanical Integrity Management of Change Investigation of Incidents Process Hazards Analysis Operating Procedures and Practices Compliance AuditsEmergency Response Pre-start-up Safety Reviews
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:Associates Engineering Degree, or equivalent formal qualificationBOSIET CertificationEmergency Response Team trainingIndustry Experience and knowledge:Several years previous experience working offshore in an operations and maintenance environmentExperience of working on an FPSO vesselABB Advant 500 Series Control SystemCameron Sub-Sea ControlElectra Hydraulic Sub-Sea Control Systems PC Application Skills:IT literate with proficiency Microsoft Applications. Personal Attributes:Competent in communicating in English language, verbal and writtenAbility to work in a multi-cultural environment alongside other technical disciplines
