We have an immediate opening for a Security Tech at our Kanata office Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for responding to, and resolving service calls, providing technical support and solving problems for Honeywell customers located across Eastern Ontario. Additional responsibilities related to the technical delivery of small service jobs, time and material work and preventive maintenance may be assigned as well. These customers will have various products installed that fall into life safety, fire, and security systems category as well as their associated computer systems. The goal is to ensure system up-time and efficiency. Be the face of Honeywell to the customer and interact directly with end-users, peers, and competitors. Share knowledge of Honeywell solutions to improve efficiencies and team ability. Become a technical specialist for sophisticated Honeywell solutions/product offerings.
The ideal candidate will have an Electrical / Electronic diploma or experience with fault finding/repairs of electronic equipment or maintenance of IT systems including hardware and software (server management, network configuration/troubleshooting, etc.).
The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide customer software and hardware support to remote deployment teams for a globally Integrated Solution
• Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently
• Analyze system logs and perform routine audits to improve system performance and efficiency
• Prioritize and lead a range of tasks while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple partners
• Provide software and hardware design, development and implementation support
• Assist customer with Life Cycle Management and software upgrade planning and deployment strategies
• Build and maintain accurate records, reports, system configuration documentation and action lists
• Lead and document reoccurring meetings both with customer and internal
• Formal reporting and site documentation
YOU MUST HAVE:
• College Diploma in electrical or electronics related field
• Minimum of 2 years of field experience in electronics or computer programming/administration
• Valid driver’s License
• Ability to acquire Top Secret Federal Government Clearances
• Ability to be part of an on-call rotation
WE VALUE:
• University Degree in electrical or electronics related field
• CFAA certification or in process of attaining it
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
• Experience in the Access control and CCTV fields
• Experience working in a server-based environment
• Previous electronic security/fire suppression industry experience
• Previous technical / installation experience
• A solid grasp of IT network communications technology
• Application Programming Experience (JAVA, Apache Tomcat, VB Script)
• Knowledge and experience working with Domain Services, Microsoft Office and Visio
• Extraction and manipulation of reports
• Upbeat, inventive, eager to learn, proactive with autonomous problem-solving ability
• Ability to lead, mentor and transfer knowledge
• Superb communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Computer Science or electrical/electronics background
• Previous customer service experience
• Technical/professional certificate
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams
• Bilingual in French and English
