We are seeking an Platform Engineer Intern to join our Data Platforms Team and learn integrating and deploying cloud-based data platform systems and services into our IT infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the platform while working closely with our enterprise architect and cloud infrastructure teams to implement and adhere to our established data architecture principles and best practices.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Learn the latest cloud-based data platform and cloud infrastructure automation technologies (Snowflake, HVR/FiveTran, dbt, Terraform, AWS)
• Participate in platform integration design work and support the build of our data platform architecture
• Build and integrate data platform systems and services with our cloud-based data warehouse platform
• Implement system integration to connect data platforms with various source systems to ensure efficient and accurate data transfer
• Build the software development life cycle (SDLC) processes for our data platforms (CI/CD pipelines, GIT integration)
• Maintain our infrastructure uptime through developing automated monitoring and recovery scripts
• Provide technical support and guidance to our data engineering team in the use of the data platform.
• Mentor and lead junior team members and provide technical guidance as needed
• Support of our production data platform infrastructure.

For this Role, You will Need:

• Linux administration and Bash
• Python
• Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus
• Infrastructure as code experience is a plus
• Familiarity with SQL, relational databases (MySQL, Oracle)
• Proficiency in arbitrary code repository tool like GIT
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• You have great analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Snowflake – cloud-based data platform
• HVR/FiveTran – data integration tool
• dbt – data transformation tool
• Apache Hive and Apache Spark
• CI/CD pipelines and GIT and artifact repository JFrog
• AWS, Azure
• IaC: Terraform, Ansible
• Any experience or knowledge of the above tools is a plus.
