The Global Manufacturing LEAN Leader is responsible for transforming GE Vernova Hydro Power results through the application of lean principles focused on Manufacturing. Specifically, the Lean leader will work closely as a partner with the function leader and senior leadership to implement Lean practices, driving both a change in operating mindset and ensuring Lean is applied effectively in support of strategic and operational plans. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop lean proficiency among GE Vernova Hydro Power Manufacturing leaders and team to both improve processes within the team and be a partner to the Manufacturing Leadership in establishing practices and principles that promote and enable Manufacturing Lean transformation.
In this role, you will work with GE Vernova Hydro Power Manufacturing Leadership team to develop, set the pace, and implement a LEAN transformation and continuous improvement strategy. You will outline the direction and deployment of the LEAN framework to ensure consistent and rigorous application across the business in line with ‘best practices’ globally.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and direction to the Manufacturing leadership in supporting the execution of the LEAN strategy for breakthrough levels of improvement in Manufacturing productivity and Quality focus on Customers based on Standard Work.
• Consistently promote high standards through personal example and role model LEAN behaviors
• Work with Manufacturing Leaders for creation and implementation of best practice LEAN vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational & quality performance.
• Implement new initiatives and projects to deliver results.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing team for Taubaté Shop.
• Lead, define and develop continuous improvement activities designed to improve productivity and quality.
• Maintain an effective 5S Program and Ideas Program as a foundational program for all Hydro Manufacturing shops.
• Develop, implement, communicate, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for LEAN implementation strategy and daily management.
• Report on progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones and forthcoming pipeline, and actions necessary to ensure success.
• Participate in Lean health checks and go/no goes, process mapping, value stream mapping, identifying inefficiencies in productivity. Recommend to management changes that can cut waste from operations.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and long-term improvement opportunities.
• Lead kaizens events in the manufacturing and transactional processes based on the Hoshin Projects, VSM, Lean Maturity Assessment and Productivity information.
• Serve as champion & change agent by stimulating, communicating, and institutionalizing key initiatives.
• Teach, train, coach, and mentor Leaders in the implementation of LEAN principles.
• Facilitate the strategic and cross functional AWO for full value stream (Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing. C&C)
• Support the building and update of GE Vernova Hydro Power LEAN System.
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with Engineering/ Technical background preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the industry.
• A senior experience in an operating position (Manufacturing processes, Transactional processes, Value Chain).
• Minimum of 5 years as dedicated LEAN Leader, including Hoshin Kanri.
• An automotive or industrial manufacturing background would be highly appreciated.
• Language requirements: Fluent English and Portuguese
• Successful track record of achievement in companies with a significant level of deployment in LEAN
• Leadership experience in LEAN Manufacturing, manufacturing and transactional.
• Experience in working with self-directed teams.
• Change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Demonstrated commitment for process improvement.
• Customer focused in defining quality and establishing priorities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to deliver effective presentations and educate at all levels of the organization.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skill.
