Job Description
Wood is currently looking for Construction Manager E&I to join our team in Basra, Iraq on a 5 weeks on /3 weeks off rotational work.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities Oversee performance of all construction activities, including but not limit to managing, planning, coordinating, and supervision of construction work for assigned small to medium brownfield projects in oil and gas field. Robust control of project scope, schedule, quality, cost and risk. Specifies and coordinates the implementation and completion of assigned projects. Interface with the Project Manager on construction activities. Supervise the whole project execution and coordinate different PEs for the required sources for PROJECT implementation. Responsible for safe delivery, ensuring that quality, schedule, and cost targets are met and for managing the associated risk. Responsible for delivery of project to agreed specifications, for managing change and customer relationships, and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is adhered to and controlled. AccountabilitiesOversee the execution of fabrication, construction, and hookupCoordinate activities of site safety, technical, and quality inspection personnel Determine if corrective actions are needed in order to meet project objectives, and work to have these implemented Report progress, performance, initiatives, issues, and challenges to Construction Site Manager or Project Manager as appropriate Champion the Company Sites Leadership Expectations Champion on-site safety awareness and safe performance with contractor and among Project Team members Interface with contractor on a day-to-day basis Provide input in the review and development of contractor’s detailed plans and procedures Monitor and appraise contractor’s performance and recommend corrective action to be taken where deficiencies are detected; verify actions are taken Coordinate resolution of construction related issues with guidance from supervisor Establish, implement, and maintain verification process for mechanical completion Utilize best practices, Comes, and other current Construction systems/tools Ensure appropriate materials management system is implemented at site Coordinate with on-site personnel regarding planning and implementation of fabrication, construction, and mechanical completion activities Participate in company’s learned reviews and provide input to close-out report sections upon completion of work Ensure execution of the contract is in compliance with contract specifications
Qualifications
Key Accountabilities: Degree qualified with Association for Project Management Practitioner or equivalent professional project management qualification Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office tools, Word / Excel / PowerPoint, to advanced template creation and document / data management level BS in Engineering, Construction Management in E&IEXPERIENCE: 12+ Years’ experience in-field Construction planning, execution, and completions 10+ years site experience Past Construction Site Lead experience on major capital or Operations Contracts.Middle East Onshore Brownfield Experience, especially Iraq, would be an advantageJOB-SPECIFIC SKILLS: A solid understanding of project controls and project management tools and practices Able to consistently apply WQ1 standards, processes, and procedures, including contract start-up process Excellent leadership and people skills; culturally aware for regional working. Energy, drive and, resourcefulness to get the job done Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to mentor Personal AttributesExcellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable strength in communication skills. Influencer – high level of personal skills is required to deal effectively with a wide range of stakeholder groups Excellent problem-solving skills Leadership, energy, and focus – takes the lead and makes it happen.
