Introduction and Overview

We are hiring for an Aseptic Processing Equipment Engineer. We have built the Small Molecule API network including four MAKE sites with harmonized goals: Cork (Ireland), Athens Georgia (US), Geel (Belgium) and Schaffhausen SM (Switzerland).

You will be a member of the Cork MAM Team and will also be connected with the technical teams within in the SM API network. As a key member of the MAM function, you will work collaboratively with partners to provide a detailed understanding of the manufacturing asset equipment and optimize same to ensure reliable supply from the site.

You will define, review, and adjust the long-term strategies and processes related to the reliable and effective operation of Technical Assets used in Aseptic processing operations on the Site. You will take care that these processes are rolled out, trained, and applied during the whole lifecycle of the technical assets. Result will be that our technical assets are performing optimally and in compliance with quality and technical safety requirements.

This position is located in Little Island, Cork and reports to the SM API Group Maintenance BU Lead Cork.

Objectives of the Position

• Be responsible for detecting and resolving constraints related to aseptic processing equipment at the Cork site.
• Be the process and content knowledge owner, to give advice on technical equipment topics and coordinate between external specialists, maintenance, engineering, EHS department and operations.
• Identifying and being responsible for the implementation of equipment continuous improvement opportunities. Participating in multi-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant in areas of Quality, Safety, Cost and People.
• Lead trouble-shooting activities and provide sustainable solutions for root cause processing equipment problems.
• Deliver technical support for Capital engineering projects.
• Lead/participate in technical risk assessments for plant changes/product introduction.
• Provide training to the relevant personnel.
• Provide technical support to internal and external audits in the operation areas in regards cGMP’s, EHS, etc.
• Ensures all Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities are value creating.
• From the Management of Change standpoint, be responsible for the detailed specification and the collaborate with operational groups to generate full requirements and support of successful implementation.
• Strives to implement strategic equipment technology upgrades.
• Provides technical support and training on process machinery operation, changeover procedures, and preventive maintenance requirements.

• Enhanced equipment performance (safety, compliance, reliability) aligned with asset criticality and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to make decisions across business units with authority.
• Encourages and supports the identification and development of innovative engineering solutions to technical problems and opportunities.
• Have strong communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, in e.g., the field of engineering (required).
• Experience working in the Chemical/Pharmaceutical/life sciences sector and environment (required).
• Project Management Professional (PMP)/ Flawless Project Execution (FPX) Certificate (preferred).
• Experience in technical safety activities in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry (preferred).
• Proficient in English language (required).
