Field Service Manager, Marine & Ports

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you become knowledgeable in the requirements, development, deployment and maintenance of the various software and equipment which comprises our Optical Character Recognition systems. To be successful in these efforts you will be required to quickly establish a detailed knowledge of all existing client installations including the sites technical architecture, systems interfaces, software applications and operating characteristics. The work model for the role is onsite. #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Process Automation Marine & Ports division in San Diego, CA. You will be mainly accountable for: • Provide onsite support to troubleshoot system hardware, software and network incidents as required when remote resolution is unsuccessful • Perform quarterly onsite maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Document all maintenance tasks in ticketing system (Salesforce) and provide check lists to customer. • Provide quality customer support to customers in response to system alerts, customer phone calls and emails • Monitor automated tracking and alert systems and input/update trouble ticketing system when appropriate • Timely escalation of high priority network/infrastructure problems and work next level support toward resolution • Provide backup support for San Diego CSC as required to maintain full support coverage as required • Maintain accurate logs/inventory of all software and hardware • Effectively communicate customer issues and concerns to all applicable internal staff members • Maintain working knowledge of products and/or services • Prepare reports and correspondence as needed Our team dynamics You will join a high performing team where you’ll be able to thrive.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience; OR Associates Degree and a minimum of 3 years of professional work experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 1 year of professional work experience (Military vocational plans accepted)
• Experience in Electrical Installation, Electronics, Instrumentation, Service and Maintenance, Project Management
• Installation and Commissioning
• Ability to climb ladders or stairs to reach equipment and lift up to 40lbs, heights can be up to 200 feet
• Commitment to excellence, communicate effectively, Problem solving, Teamwork, Technical orientation, Analytical, Customer orientation, Professional attitude
• Applicants must have a valid legal driver’s license.
• Up to 10% domestic travel, international maybe but rare
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
