The Maintenance and Reliability Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and execution of both routine and heavy maintenance activities. This role involves developing, supervising, and managing maintenance and reliability personnel, as well as coordinating with service providers. The position requires close collaboration with various departments such as Operations, Logistics, Projects, Construction, Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance of assets.

Job Description:

• Manage an organization responsible for maintaining Guyana’s fleet of FPSO’s to achieve safety, integrity, regulatory, and production expectations.
• Accountable for Maintenance performance results: Personnel safety (SBM and support contractors), maintenance execution quality, aligning on and meeting Operations’ priorities, efficient maintenance execution, compliance with maintenance process and GEMS system expectations.
• Partner with Asset leadership team members in support of achieving Guyana’s Country Strategy. Consider short- and long-term needs in alignment with the annual plan.
• Capability development of maintenance staff including broadening, upskilling and leadership preparation.
• Develop effective contractor interfaces, ensuring contractor safety and quality expectations are met and appropriate contractor resourcing is in place and capable.
• Improve processes and delivery of maintenance through KPI data analysis and heightened expectations.
• Ensure each asset delivers competitive maintenance performance as measured by reliability and cost.

Scope of Responsibility:

Collaborate across Area Leadership Teams to ensure maintenance effectiveness

• Ensure full support of Operational maintenance needs
• Align with Operations, Technical, and support functions on near and long-term opportunities for improvements
• Manage tension points between asset priorities and maintenance functional deliverablesUnderstand and manage Operational priorities through use of competitive maintenance practices
• Support the Monthly Area Report (MAR) and asset leadership team (ALT) review exercises from Operations

Drive Safety Performance

• Demonstrate safety leadership by driving systems and reinforcing behaviors necessary to achieve safe work outcomes
• Utilize safety tools to drive improvements in Business PerformancePerform field verification & validation of safety expectations, paired with leadership team membersCoach leaders and team members to ensure quality use of safety tools including: safety meetings, LOTO, work permit, work procedures, and HID/NM reportingSteward overall Maintenance performance including improvement plans to Aset Leadership
• Responsible to ensure thorough / quality investigations are carried out for all incidents

Deliver Functional Objectives

• Deliver Maintenance Functional Excellence through employee and contracted resourcesProvide quality work products to support integrity and reliability in accordance with maintenance work process Support efficient work practices including enablement of technicians to plan and execute simple workFocus planning teams on complex and longer-term maintenance needs to ensure readiness for efficient field executionAssess efficiency opportunities with a fleet-wide view of maintenance activitiesChallenge teams to identify and resolve barriers which lead to inefficient work outcomesImplement Best Practices technologies or procedures that improve repair quality or costDesign/implement CMMS tool to support maintenance process, data capture, and performance analysisEvaluate performance by analyzing metrics defined within the maintenance scorecardSteward maintenance OPEX to Operations ManagersHold Maintenance teams accountable to clear expectations

• Monitor and address the health of the workload on the required Maintenance functionDevelop efficient resourcing strategies considering in-house vs external staffing options
• Work directly with supporting functions to deliver quality, efficient, cost-competitive resultsEnsure vendor workforce and leadership capabilities sufficiently support maintenance needsResource vendors with a fleet view to enable efficienciesDrive material quality and readiness for current and upcoming workscopesPartner with engineering to deliver optimized preventative maintenance tasksSupport development and delivery of Annual Maintenance Plan

Build and sustain a highly skilled, motivated maintenance organization

• Verify contractor and Imperial safety leadership behaviours in the field. Provide coaching as required to continuously improve. Ensure similar verification and coaching is occurring frequently at all levels.
• Develop strategy to maximize work done by core maintenance crew versus vendor and ensure core crew capability is developed to achieve the strategy
• Develop and drive resource plan that delivers competencies required to effectively support Operational needsClearly define resource staffing and understand competency requirements/needs (e.g. specific equipment knowledge etc.)Develop and execute staffing and training plans to meet business needs and close identified gapsConsider opportunities to develop local skills in place of contracted resources

• Develop short term and longer-term programs to effectively fill positions and facilitate succession planning and advancementBuild bench strength through exposure of capable candidatesEffectively train and provide feedback to build culture & capability

Candidate Requirements:

• A reputation of setting high standards, promoting effective communication and strong teamwork across organizations
• Knowledge of planning, scheduling and maintenance execution in general, and ability to develop and implement new processes
• Familiar with standards / procedures associated with key GEMS elements
• Knowledge of the Safety and Work Permitting Procedures, Hazop Program, Incident Reporting, and Environmental Response, and Maintenance Procedures
• Knowledge of company policies and procedures regarding organizational responsibilities
• Ability to manage during a crisis situation and make decisions during an emergency
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and multi-company environment
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or capable individuals with strong field experience preferred
