YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ABB Marine & Ports Norway is expanding its team with more Service Engineers. This is an exciting opportunity to work with ABB’s Electrical systems on ships worldwide! Your workplace will be onboard modern ships or rigs where your work tasks would be service, modernization or commissioning of ABB delivered electrical systems. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, integrating solutions for both existing and new systems, and carrying out scheduled maintenance. ABB delivers a wide range of products for the marine industry, such as frequency converters, automation systems, power management systems, propulsion systems and power distribution systems such as high voltage AC switchboards and DC grid switchboards. Whether you already have experience or are eager to develop expertise in these areas, we want to hear from you. You must be motivated for travelling! One week, you might be working in Norway; the next, you could be in the Far East or the Americas. Travels could be everything from one day to several weeks, but together we try to make a work schedule which would fit both the employee and the customers.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
• University or Technical College.
• Must be fluent in both written and verbal English.
• Experience within electrical power and/or automation systems onboard ships or rigs is an advantage but not an absolute requirement.
• If you have experience as a ship/rig electrician, experience from shipyards, understanding and interest in marine installations that would be an advantage.

• Ability to perform tasks under pressure.
• Good understanding of marine systems.
