Advanced Application Engineer for Hand Held Products, Inc. (Pittsburgh, PA)
RESPONSIBILITES:
Provide Senior Tier 3 technical support with a focus on high quality, accuracy, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction. Support is often provided to partners and customers who are in technical positions such as software development, database administration, system administration, network administration, and various IT functions.
Analyze and clarify customer queries through troubleshooting, researching, and recreating of issues.
Capable of handling all Tier 2 and Tier 3 requests.
Frequently determines root cause and develops solutions at a code level.
Frequently work directly with engineering to investigate/reproduce complex issues together.
Develop and test small software fixes and features to meet customer requirements.
High success rate of relentlessly troubleshooting the most challenging uncommon and rare problems.

Job Site: Pittsburgh, PA
40 hours/week

YOU MUST HAVE:
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Software Development, Telecommunication Networks, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of experience in a technical role. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree in the above-listed fields and 2 years of experience in a technical role. Full term of experience must include: hands-on experience in object-oriented programming, including Java and/or Python; experience troubleshooting software application issues at a code level, by stepping through the application logic for programs mostly written with Java, Python, C#, proprietary Vocollect TaskBuilder, and transact SQL stored procedures; understanding of Internet application technologies including HTML, XML, and Internet application architectures based upon Java technology; developing and testing small software fixes and features to meet customer requirements; providing basic level development assistance to voice solution developers; knowledge of relational database management systems (Microsoft SQL and Oracle) and structured query language (SQL); knowledge of both client and server operating systems (Windows & Linux); and experience with cloud solutions. Approximately 15% domestic travel required for onsite troubleshooting. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 times per week.
