To help create the future of surgery, we are building a best-in-class team and are looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor I. This role provides ongoing coaching to more junior supervisors to improve quality and consistent output in our manufacturing operation. Key responsibilities:

• Accountable for the effective performance of all shifts against critical metrics. This includes EHSS, cGMP and Production Schedule adherence while maintaining cost controls (Scrap/Yield/Inventory /Cost Targets).
• Change agent to encourage teams adapt to new policies and ensure new processes are developed, implemented, sustained, and improved.
• Manage headcount and the selection of new employees within the teams, setting objectives in line with our strategy.
• Maintain engagement, high morale, motivation, and efficiency within their teams by adhering to the J&J leadership imperatives. Build a positive environment for employee development. Enable a robust pipeline of succession for key positions.
• Responsible for first line immediate corrective actions to move forward Production and drive resolution of EHS&S and GMP deviations, e.g. (near) incidents and compliance non-conformances. Continuously review, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of the Manufacturing organization applying Lean methodology and other practices.
• Accountable for driving alignment between teams, shift teams and other departments to improve work processes across Production and build trust and collaboration across all these teams and departments.
• Establish a psychologically safe working environment where every employee feels valued and recognized. Present at the shop floor and engaged in all departmental performance management meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S. in Supply Chain, Sciences, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related fields ( preferred)

Experience and skills:

Required:

• Minimum of 5 years of practical and industrial experience (Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Distribution, Warehousing, Customer Service and/or related field)
• A minimum of 2 years of people management (employees or contractors) or cross-functional project management experience is required.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP & Inventory controls) systems and material management flows along with financial transactions.
• Proven track record of building and leading impactful teams toward the successful attainment of goals in support of the business strategy with strong results orientation
• Applying lean methodology and process line balancing required to develop and create new process flows and cycle time/capacity improvements.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in analytical skills and professional judgment required to resolve major technical issues keeping a cross-functional approach. Analytical ability, performance management and problem solving are key.
• Statistical Process controls, data utilization & trending and continuous improvement knowledge is required (Kaizen).
• Excellent EHSS and GMP expertise & experience, Knowledge of FDA regulated environments
• Great understanding of Kanban processes, implementation, and adherence
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written); able to network well at all levels
• Flexibility in work hours (must be available to return to work outside normal work hours based on demand/business needs)

Preferred:

• Six Sigma and/or Lean Certificate (Black Belt or Green Belt) or other relevant certification is a plus
• Finance knowledge preferably with experience in maintaining budget
• Scalable manufacturing with Gross Profit Mindset
• Project management certification (preferred) or experience but not required.

Other:

• Approximately 10% travel is required
• The anticipated base pay range for this position is 76000 to 121900. California Bay Area – The anticipated base pay range for this position is 89000 to 140185.
• The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, work hours may vary between 6:00 am to 5 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This role is based in Santa Clara. Working overtime may be needed.
